Shirley Roe, 77, of Fort Plain, formerly of Gloversville, passed away on Sunday afternoon, March 31, 2013, at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville, where she was surrounded by her family.
She was born on December 28, 1935, in Ticonderoga, the daughter of the late Charles and Jennie St. Andrews.
Shirley had a great love for her large family, she enjoyed the time she spent with her children and numerous grandchildren.
She had a joy for cooking and baking delicous treats for them and could often be found in the kitchen.
Shirley was married to Jesse D. Roe; he passed away on January 24, 1997.
Besides her husband, Shirley was predecesed by three children, two infant twins at birth; and another son, Tobby Roe.
Mrs. Roe is survived by: eight children, David (Darlene), Bonnie (Robert), Douglas (Kim), James, Lori (Ed), Robert (Michelle), Arlene and Christina; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 2 until 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, where a funeral service will follow the visitation at 4 p.m., with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating.
