Harold E. Moore, 83, of Fultonville, N.Y., passed away with his loving family by his side on Monday, June 24, 2013. He was of the Protestant faith and will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
Born Aug. 11, 1929, in Randall, N.Y., to the late A. Dewey and Inez Moore, Harold was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Fultonville High School. He married the love of his life, Evelyn, on June 7, 1953. In his youth Harold played trumpet in the local band, which led to his lifelong love of music. Harold started at a young age helping out on the family dairy farm, ultimately having his own business, H. Moore Oliver Dealership, in Fultonville. Always enjoying local history, Harold had so many stories to tell that he was often referred to by his loved ones and friends as the “Fonda-Fultonville Historian.” He was involved in so many local activities and groups. Woodworking, birdwatching and reading everything were hobbies of Harold. He will always be remembered as a kind, hard working, family man who had many talents.
Harold is survived by his sons, Stephen H. Moore (Sandra) and Brian E. Moore (Cynthia); a daughter, Robin M. Gardner (David); grandchildren, Matt, Mike, and Mark Gardner, Travis, Kelsey, and Austin Moore; a sister, Marilyn Moore also survives. In addition to his parents, Harold was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn Moore; a brother, Joseph Moore; and a sister, Grace Myers.
The family invites relatives and friends to attend a Memorial Service at Johnstown Reformed Church. A calling period will take place on Friday, June 28, 2013, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the church. A Memorial Service will take place at Johnstown Reformed Church at 6 p.m. following the calling period, with the Rev. Brian Dykema to preside over all services.
