Mildred Stutzke

Mildred Stutzke, 85, of Broadalbin, passed away on July 5, 2013, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam following a long illness.

Born on July 4, 1928 in Gloversville, she was the daughter of the late Stewart and Kate (Gifford) Gage.

She was married to the Kenneth Stutzke on October 30, 1948, he passed away on September 7, 2001.

Mildred worked for the Fulton County Department of Social Services as a case worker for many years until her retirement.

Mrs. Stutzke was a member of the Hagaman United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling, camping, swimming, watching fireworks, crafts, crocheting, knitting, rooting for Jeff Gordon, her favorite NASCAR driver and in her early years had a passion for square dancing. Most of all, Mildred had a love for her family, she was a devoted mother and a proud grandmother.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Florence Brown; and one brother, Stewart Gage.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Linda L. (Jeff) Stutzke of Perth; son, Kenneth R. “Chet” (Beth) Stutzke, Jr. of Broadalbin; grandsons, Louis (Nancy) Stutzke of Mayfield and Kenneth R. (Anna) Stutzke III of Broadalbin; great-grandson, Austin J. Stutzke of Broadalbin; sister, Beverly (John) Damiano of Gloversville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins including special niece, JoAnn.

Friends and relatives are invite to call on the family from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2013, at the Jeffords and Stewart Funeral Home, 85 West Main Street, Broadalbin, where a funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 8. Burial will follow at Perth Cemetery, Perth.
