Loretta Lince, 73, of Gloversville passed away early Friday morning, August 30, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Born on January 18, 1940, in Gloversville, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Nettie (Walker) White.
Mrs. Lince was employed as a taxi driver for Glove City Taxi of Gloversville until her retirement. Previously, she also worked for Coleco Industries and the former Decca Record Co.
Loretta enjoyed taking trips to the casino, playing bingo and cooking for her ever-growing family. She also enjoyed watching baseball, always cheering on the New York Yankees, but her greatest passion and accomplishment was being the proud mother of seven daughters.
Mrs. Lince was married to Walter Lince who passed away on July 9, 2001.
She is survived by seven daughters, Deborah (Kevin) Lince of Johnstown, Donna (Larry) McGillis of Gloversville, Doris (William) VanBuren of Gloversville, Delia (A.J.) Debell of Johnstown, Dorriann Lince of North Carolina, Tina (John) Pasquariello of Gloversville and Carolyn (Wayne) Wilson of Gloversville; one brother, Ronald Craig of Mayfield; two sisters, Linda Veeder of Johnstown and Sandy Murray of Broadalbin; several grandchildren, two of which are Tonya Cionek and Tabitha Steenburg; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and relatives are invited for a celebration of Loretta’s life on Monday, September 2, 2013, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Johnstown Community Center, 2 Prindle Court, Johnstown. You are invited to bring a covered dish to share. Private burial will take place at Broadalbin-Mayfield Rural Cemetery, Broadalbin.
