Gwendolyn M. Howe

Gwendolyn M. Howe, 55, of Galway, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 16, 2013. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Born August 8, 1958, in Gloversville, N.Y., to Douglas and Marcia Coon, Gwendolyn was a 1977 graduate of The School for the Deaf, in Rome, N.Y. Gwen attended various deaf organization functions and was an advocate of the deaf. Gwen was an active member of FMCC’s ASL (American Sign Language) Club, where she participated with and had a great impact on many lives of those she helped in the deaf community as well as her own family. She was united in marriage to Russell A. Howe in 2007, although they spent over 20 wonderful years together. Gwen was an employee of Lexington located in Johnstown, NY, and she was a former employee of White Mop Company in Fultonville, NY, for 24 years. She will be remembered for her determination to face any challenge that life brought her, but mainly for her love of family, and friends. She loved people and animals; learning and teaching. She loved life and enjoyed every moment.

She is survived by her loving husband and parents; her beloved brother, Steve Coon (Rene); her son, Lester “Billy” Andrews III (Meagan) and their son (her cherished grandson) Trent Andrews. Gwen is also survived by her step-children, Danny, Ashley, and Amanda; grandchildren, Lilly Fredricks, Kiersten Friday, Logan Macisaac, and Deliliah Howe as well as several Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday Sept. 23, 2013 at 2:00. Relatives and friends may attend a calling period from 12 to 2 with a service to immediately follow. Donations can be made in Gwen’s memory to FMCC ASL Club.
