Lena V. Milroy of Johnstown, N.Y., passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born Nov. 1, 1920, in Gloversville, N.Y. She was united in marriage to Ralph W. Milroy in August 1947, and he passed away in 1977. She attended Broadalbin schools and received her GED. Mrs. Milroy was employed for many years as a glovemaker for various local companies, and from 1969-1992 was the business agent for the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union. She was a member of Foothills United Methodist Church and served on the Board of Ful-Mont Friendship House and worked with the American Cancer Society.
She is survived by a son, Ralph C. (Melissa Krauss) Milroy; and a stepgranddaughter, Chanise Beyer; and her two cats, Three and Snoopy. She was predeceased by a stepgrandson, Travis Krauss.
There will be no visiting hours or funeral services. Cremation took place at Vale Crematory, Schenectady, N.Y. Arrangements are by the Ehle Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brennan Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Road, Gloversville, N.Y., or the ASPCA.
