Mrs. Luella B. Craig, age 96, of Gloversville, died Friday, September 20, 2013, at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home, Gloversville.
She was born June 26, 1917, in Mayfield, the daughter of the late Frank and Ida Eschler Zimmerman. She was employed as a glovemaker by several area leather glove manufacturers in Mayfield and Gloversville, including the former Modern Glove Company.
Mrs. Craig was a member of the Mayfield United Methodist Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Earl “Larry” Craig, who died 2003.
Survivors include two daughters, Sally A. Stanton of Mayfield and Barbara J. Kelly of Sloansville; a sister, June Ropan; a sister-in-law, Grace Zimmerman; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Luella was predeceased by a brother and a sister, Fay Zimmerma and Alice Czupryk; and by two grandchildren.
A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013, at the Mayfield United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jerry Oliver officiating.
Interment will take place at Union Rural Cemetery, Mayfield. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Mayfield United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 203, Mayfield, NY 12117.
