Margaret S. Calabrese, age 96, of Gloversvile, N.Y., passed away peacefully at home on September 15, 2013. She was born in Gloversville on October 1, 1917, the daughter of Rudolph and Justina Klempa Calabrese. Margaret was a glove maker and employed at the Grandoe Glove Corp. of Gloversville. She was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit and the Johnstown Senior Center. Margaret was a 1935 graduate of Johnstown High School.
She is survived by two daughters, Connie Kadlick of Kissimmee, Fla. and Ann Nickloy (Nick) of Gloversville; four granchildren, Kelly Pilkey, Michelle Flickinger, Travis Kadlic and Tisha Evens; two stepgranchildren, Heidi Nickloy Shore and Aaron Nickloy; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, ALbert Calabrese and they were married in 1948. He died in 1966. She was also predeceased by three sisters, Bertha Loveless, Velma Bishop and Theresa Biadato.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wesnesday, September 18, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the John W. Finocan Funeral Home Inc., 13 Prospect Ave., Gloversville, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will take place noon Thursday at the Church of the Holy Spirit, with the Rev. Donald Czelusniak, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will take place in the Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown, N.Y.
