William ‘Bill’ Richard Ferguson

William R. Ferguson, 66, of Gloversville, passed away unexpectedly on September 19, 2013.

He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Born to Laurence and Mildred (Faulkner) in the Bronx, N.Y., on October 28, 1946, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a PJ pararescue during the Vietnam War from 1965-1968. Bill worked for General Electric as a machinist and union leader and Campbell Plastics and was director of operations for the Gloversville Enlarged School District. Bill was commander of the VFW and a member of the American Legion. Bill was also the chairman of the Planning Board for the city of Gloversville.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Penny; his son, Laurence (Rebecca); beloved granddaughter, (Saratoga), brother Shane and nephews (Michael, Scott and Matthew).

Services will be held Sept. 30 at La Paloma Funeral home, located at 5450 N Stephanie St., Las Vegas, NV 89122, with a military funeral to follow. Bill will be laid to rest in the Southern Nevada Veterans Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held Oct. 4, starting at 5 p.m., at “Club B,” 350 Bleecker St., Gloversville. Please join us to celebrate Bill’s life and honor his memory. Bring happy memories and laughter to share.
