Arlene I. Dutcher

Arlene I. Dutcher, a lifelong resident of Gloversville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on October 18th, 2013 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam, NY. She was 89 years old.

Arlene was born on November 2, 1923, in Broadalbin, NY. She was the daughter of the late Charles Frye and Belle Dimick.

She worked for over 37 years as a press operator for MCA Decca Records in Gloversville, N.Y., until her retirement in 1990.

In her leisure, Arlene loved to play cards with her family and friends. She also enjoyed visiting the various casinos in the area. Although her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren

Mrs. Dutcher was pre deceased by her husband Robert Dutcher who died on December 28,1998 She is also predeceased by 2 sons, Delbert Meher Jr. and Paul Meher Sr. and grandson Edward Lewis Jr.

Survivors include two sons, Edward “Pete” Meher and his wife Jeanne of Syracuse, NY, Gary Meher and his wife Dawn all of Gloversville, NY, three daughters, Elaine “Pret” Matthews and her husband Daniel of North Carolina, Marlene Flynn and her husband Tom of Amsterdam, NY, and Cheryl Wolfe and her husband Ken of Middle Grove, NY, Ethel Meher of Florida and Candy Meher of Gloversville, a sister, Beatrice Stutzke and her husband John of Broadalbin, NY, two step sons Frederick Dutcher and Robert Dutcher and his wife Loraine both of Gloversville, two step daughters Linda Buchner and her husband Garry and Maryann Sparks and her husband Randy both of Johnstown, NY, 17 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren, as well as many nieces nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville, NY.

Memorial donations can be made in her memory to American Legion Post 137 Gloverville, NY, in honor of Robert and Arlene Dutcher.
