Dorothy L. Stoeff, 85, of Gloversville, passed away late Monday evening, October 7, 2013, at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville.
Born on October 1, 1928, in Gloversville, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Skoda) Stoeff.
She was a lifelong area resident and a 1948 graduate of Gloversville High School. Dorothy was employed as a telephone repair technician by the former Contel Telephone Company in Johnstown until her retirement.
Dorothy enjoyed traveling in her early years and also enjoyed reading. She was a former member of Nathan Littauer Hospital Auxillary and was also a member of the Bannertown Seniors Center. Dorothy had a special lifelong relationship with her sister, Elsie.
She is survived by her sister, Elsie Humber of Gloversville; nephew, Michael T. Humber of Cumming, Ga.; and great-nephew, Jameson Humber of Atlanta, Ga.
Besides her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Cyril Humber, in 1999.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2013, at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. Burial will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
