Anthony S. ‘Tony’ Coco

Anthony S. “Tony” Coco, age 81, of Johnstown, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2016, at the V.A. Medical Center in West Haven, Connecticut with his loving family by his side.

He was born on April 11, 1934, in Johnstown, a son of the late Alfio and Rosaria DeMarco Coco.

Mr. Coco was a class of 1952 graduate of Johnstown High School and attended Siena College. He honorably served his country aboard the USS Wisconsin in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Tony worked for many years in the leather industry for Rulison Tannery. He was of the Catholic faith, a communicant, eucharistic minister and lecture for the former Immaculate Conception Church and attended Holy Trinity Church. Through Tony’s life he enjoyed playing pool with his friends at the senior center, hunting with his sons, nephews and grandsons. He especially loved the time he spent with his family.

Tony is survived by his wife, Joan Miller Coco, whom he married on September 22, 1956; two sons, Michael A. Coco (Mary) of Perth and Andrew S. Coco (Denise) of Gloversville; three daughters, Kimberly A. Andrews and her companion Doug of Meco, Toni M. Subik (Gene) of Gloversville and Anne Marie F. Sweet of Johnstown; one sister, Nellie Thompson of Johnstown; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Coco was predeceased by two brothers, three sisters and three grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 12, 2016, at Holy Trinity Church, Glebe Street, Johnstown.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, February 11, 2016, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.
