Grace M. Loucks

Grace M. Loucks, 93, of Northville, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2016 at the Wells House Nursing Home. She was born in the Town of Northampton on October 9, 1922, the daughter of the late Ora and Hazel (Johnson) Darling, Sr.

Grace was a lifetime resident of the area and attended local schools. Grace was united in marriage on September 7, 1940 to Charles W. Loucks. They were married just one month short of 64 years, he passed away August 8, 2004. Grace loved her family and made friends where ever she would go. Her family was her joy in life and she was known by many as Gramma Grace and became “Mom” to many of her nieces and nephews. Her home was always open to those in need and she would offer a helping hand when ever needed. Among her devotion to family and friends, she was a Girl Scout leader, member of the Baptist Church of Northville, loved being outdoors during all seasons, enjoyed flowers and gardening, arts and crafts, playing games and putting together jigsaw puzzles.

Survivors include, daughters, Judy (Phillip) Van Heusen of Newport, NC, and Peggy (John) Trzaskos of Edinburg, son -in- law John Ferguson, daughter- in- law, Linda Loucks, sisters -in- law, Marian Hallenbeck, Rose Loucks, Barbara Hayes and Iona Darling and a brother in law, Homer Ellsworth; grandchildren, Shannon Ferguson, Sandra (Darwin)Graham, John Steve (Leslie) Loucks, Jo Ellen Boone, Beth (Wayne) Wiggins, Matthew (Teresa) Van Heusen, Robert Van Heusen, Danielle (Tony) Morris, Rebecca (Randy) Monge, John (Holly) Trzaskos and Andy Godbold. She is also survived by 25 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

In addition to her husband, Charles W. Loucks, she is predeceased by a daughter, Rosalie Ferguson, a son, Donald C. Loucks, grandsons, Steven Loucks, Michael Loucks and Eric Ferguson, a great granddaughter, Gabrielle Van Heusen and siblings, Edward Morgan, Ora “Bud” Darling and Mary Sauve.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, February 15, 2016 from 4pm until 7pm at Northville Funeral Service, 401 Bridge Street, Northville NY 12134. A funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 11am at the Baptist Church of Northville, 111 North First St, Northville, NY 12134. Pastor Richard C. Klueg and Pastor George Hopper will officiate. Contributions may be made in Grace’s memory to the Northville Volunteer Fire Department, North Main Street, Northville, NY 12134.
