John Ketzko, 57, passed away Jan 31, 2016, with his family by his side at home in Gloversville, NY.
John was born February 2, 1958, at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, to Richard and Rosemary Ketzko. John had one sibling, a brother, Richard. John lived in New York City up until 1991 when he moved upstate and worked in the Lexington Center workshop for many years.
John loved the country atmosphere and the surrounding areas of Fulton County, visiting the lakes as well as trips to Cooperstown, Lake George, and Boston. But as much as John loved this area, he always looked forward to his annual trip back to NYC, with Pete and Janie, either for the Radio City Music Hall Christmas show, a Yankees game, or just site seeing and spending time back in “The City.”
John loved his friends and family and always greeted people in such a kind way. He really loved company, going out for a coffee or lunch and just spending time talking and checking to see how your family was doing. John enjoyed visiting the senior center in Gloversville on a weekly basis with his friend Sandra. John also looked forward each year to spending Thanksgiving dinner with his friend Phelps.
John made many friends in his 25 years that he lived in Fulton County, especially Chuck, Jason, Kyle, Mark, Eric, Betty, Pete, Brian, Janie, George, and Kristin. All of John’s friends are welcomed to join us in celebrating John’s life on Wednesday, February 3, at the Amico Funeral Home. Calling hours are from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with service to follow at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Ferndale Cemetery. Online condolences can be sent to www.amicofuneralhome.com.
