Margaret E. Ward Gonyea, 46, of Gloversville, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 1, 2016, at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home with her family by her side. She had been fighting a long battle with cancer.
She was born on February 20, 1969, in Gloversville, the daughter of Carol Eagan and the late John Ward. She worked for 26 years at Somerset Industries until recently. A loving mother, Margaret was also a hard worker and had an amazing sense of humor.
Margaret is survived by two sons, Kristopher Whitman and Arthur Whitman V; her mother, Carol Eagan; six siblings, Karen Hawkins, Patricia Ward, John Ward Jr., Anne Ruf, Steven Ward and Stacey Ward. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, February 4, 2016, at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville. Cremation will follow at Parkview Crematorium, Schenectady.
