Rose Lofaso, 105, of Gloversville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 12, 2016, at the Nathan Littauer Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family.
Born September 20, 1910, in New York, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Grace Salerno LaBarca.
Rose enjoyed sewing and various craft projects and always looked forward to trips to her summer home on Putnam Lake. She was a parishioner of Church of the Holy Spirit in Gloversville.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Grace Naselli, John LaBarca, Rosena LaBarca, Vincent LaBarca, Joseph Lofaso and Jean Dimino. Rose is also survived by several great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 68 years, Michael Lofaso; brothers, Anthony and Ciro LaBarca; niece, Jean Carvella and sisters-in-law, Rose and Josephine LaBarca.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Church of the Holy Spirit, 149 S. Main Street, Gloversville. At Rose’s request, there will be no calling hours. Entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn will take place at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Rose’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to a charity of one’s choice.
