Mrs. Nancy E. Richards, age 88, formerly of Gloversville, passed away peacefully at River Ridge Living Center, Amsterdam, NY on May 21, 2016.
She was born March 1, 1928 in Grand Mere, Quebec, Canada. She is the daughter of the late John and Lois Hillman Mansfield.
Nancy was educated in Montreal and then attended Nathan Littauer Nursing School. She was a nurses aid for many years and worked as the Director of the Getman Home in Gloversville. Her passion in life was to care for others, she especially loved caring for her grandchildren and family. Nancy was also fond of her cats.
She was married on August 26, 1950 to Charles Richards, he predeceased her in October of 2004.
Survivors include children, Mitchell J. Richards (Carol Hoyt) of Gloversville, Jeffrey Richards(Lynn) of FL, Charles Richards(Mary) of Gloversville, Marcia LaDeau (John Simons) of Piseco, NY and Agnes E. Richards of Gloversville. She is also survived by many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her sister Elizabeth Clive.
Family and friends are invited to visit from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the John W. Finocan Funeral Home, Inc. 13 Prospect Avenue, Gloversville NY 12078 followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the St. Mary’s Cemetery in South Glens Falls following the funeral service.
