Eileen Sophie “Nana” Waffle, age 89, of Gloversville, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016, at the Fulton Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare, with her loving family by her side.
She was born on October 11, 1926, in Queens, the daughter of the late William Frederick and Eva Tremmel Sutschek.
Eileen was a high school graduate of the New York City school system. She was a homemaker to her beloved family. Mrs. Waffle enjoyed reading, needlepoint and watching Turner Classic Movies.
She is survived by one son, Everett Hess Jr. (Anita) of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina; one daughter, Janice Christman (Michael) of Johnstown; grandchildren, Wendy Chirieleison and fiance Matthew Harrington and Lisa Poissant (Justin); and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as several step-grandchildren.
Eileen was predeceased by her husband, Alvin M. Waffle Sr., whom she married on June 21, 1975, and he passed on December 15, 1989; and her two brothers, Joseph Sutschek Sr. and William F. Sutschek Sr.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial services will be held at a later date on Long Island.
