Ethel M. Ambrosino, age 86, of Gloversville, NY, entered into rest with the Lord on June 8, 2016, at Mountain Valley Hospice, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ethel was the daughter of the late Alton T. Oare and Lorena Lorenzi Oare. She was educated and received her GED from Gloversville High School. She was employed for many years at the former Gloversville Continental Mills and later retiring from Lee Dyeing Co. She was a past member of the rosary society of Sacred Heart parish, later the Church of the Holy Spirit of which she was a eucharistic minister for many years.
Ethel is survived by her husband of 64 years, Joseph J. Ambrosino Sr.; her son, Joseph Ambrosino Jr. and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Ambrosino of Virginia Beach, Va.; a granddaughter, Ella Marie Ambrosino of Virginia Beach, Va.; three brothers, James J. Oare Sr. of Gloversville, NY, John D. Oare of Portsmouth, Virginia and Paul T. Oare (Lori) of Port St. Lucie, Florida; three sisters, Gloria Hawver (Robert) of Fort Plain, Marilyn Fredericks (Earl) of Palatine Bridge and Phyllis A. Oare of Gloversville; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by four brothers, Raymond J. Oare, Alton T. Oare Jr., William Oare and Anthony Oare; and by two sisters, Mary E. Smith and Jean L. Wohlegmuth.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Friday, June 10, at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a prayer service will follow at 10:15 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 151 S. Main St., Gloversville. The Rev. James Davis will be the celebrant.
Burial will take place at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown, following the mass.
