Raymond A. Perham, 82, of Gloversville, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2016, at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville. He was surrounded by his loving daughters.
Born in Gloversville, NY on July 15, 1933, he is the son of the late Sanford A. and Catherine A. Fonda Perham. He attended local schools and was employed at Washburns Dairy for over twenty years. Over the years he worked construction for various companies in the area, the last was Hoyle Construction.
Ray is a former member of the Bleecker Fish & Game Club, the Concordia Club, a bowling league for many years and the NRA. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and more recently camping. The most important part of Ray’s life was his family. He showed unconditional love to his family and visited members of his family every week right up until his illness. He also had a great love for all animals.
Survivors include daughters, Ginger Perham of Gloversville and Connie (Jim) Yerry of Johnstown; grandchildren, Toby Bruse (Kearsten), Brittany Wagner (Zach) and Kali Lovette (Patrick); great-grandchildren, Hannah Kolesnikov, Emerson Wagner, Zoey Lovette and Maxton Lovette. He is also survived by a brother, Sanford Perham (Cecilia); and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Sanford and Catherine Perham; along with siblings, Kenneth, Elmer, Robert and James Perham, Dora Patterson, Shirley Wagner, Eleanor Chase and Ruth VanVranken. He was also predeceased by his faithful companion of 18 years, Daisy.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, June 24, 2016, from noon until 2 p.m. at the Gloversville Funeral Service Inc., 4 Second Avenue, Gloversville NY 12078. A funeral service with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams will take place at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
