Beverly B. (Wands) Buchanan, 85, of Greene, NY formerly of Gloversville, NY went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, October 12th, 2016 at the home of her daughter. She was predeceased by her brother, Howard Wands and her beloved Mom, Florence Wands. She is survived by her faithful and loving husband of 66 years John (Jack) Buchanan and their three children and spouses: Bryan and Marie, Michal Ann (Challee) and Samuel Westover, Brent and Mary; and 14 grandchildren: Michael and Pamela; Nathanael, Sharayah, Zachariah, Paul and Kari, Lee, Ezekiel, Naomi, Peter, Kelly, Olivia, Josiah; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Beverly was a co-owner of Eastland Dairy and while she raised her family she also ran the business portion of the family dairy farm and the milk processing plant and farm to home milk delivery routes. She delighted in serving the senior citizens in their homes and in apartments in the high rises bringing them their weekly milk delivery and sometimes doing odd chores for them. An expert seamstress, she delighted her children by creating original homemade Halloween costumes that won first place at every Mayfield Grade School parade event for all three kids. A woman of great faith, Beverly served in many capacities in the church that her ancestors had helped build, Mayfield Center Community Church. Sunday School teacher, Superintendent, VBS worker, teacher, leader, and treasurer were some of her roles. Beverly worked as a bookkeeper, BOCES aide, and CPA accounting clerk before and after having her family. Beverly enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, especially delighting in hosting holiday celebrations. Beverly was active in the Salvation Army and Mayfield PTO in her active years. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 15th, 2016 at the Mayfield Center Community Church. Rev. Peter Marshall, Beverly’s Nephew will officiate. Burial will be in Perth Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mayfield Center Community Church. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.rootfh.com.
