Marilyn H. Johnson, 86, of Johnstown, passed away on October 6, 2016, after a brief illness. She was born on December 27, 1929, the daughter of Lenny House and Mary H. Blackwood.
Marilyn was a graduate of Johnstown High School and in 1948 married Raymond Johnson. She was a homemaker who truly enjoyed raising her six children and caring for many more. Marilyn always welcomed family and friends to her home. She liked to go dancing and was an avid card player. Marilyn was employed at Gould’s Department Store until it closed; a job that was the highlight of her life.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Joy (Jan) Little, Kathleen (Perry) Eckler, Elaine (Timothy) Pedrick, Lisa (John) Duesler, Paul (Shelley) Johnson and Mark Johnson’ grandchildren, Scott Cannell, Jennifer Rogers, Timothy Pedrick Jr., Emily Yuenger, Hiedi Dacre, Erica Gendron, Holly Wendt, Tyler Johnson and Lindsey Johnson; and twelve great-grandchildren. Marilyn is also survived by a special brother, Thomas Little; cousins, Richard and Suzi Mansfield; and several dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband and parents.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ehle and Barnett Family Funeral Home LLC, 15 N. William St., Johnstown, NY 12095. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 10, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Johnstown Reformed Church, 351 N. Perry Street, Johnstown, NY 12095 with an interment at Ferndale Cemetery to follow.
