Gretchen R. Roberson, 43, of Court Street, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, after a long illness.
Born September 13, 1973 in Middletown, New York, she was the daughter of Frank and Merilyn VanHouton Ludwig. She was a graduate of the Cobleskill High School Class of 1992 and she attended F.M.C.C.
Gretchen first worked at Ludwig Chiropractic in Cobleskill and later Little Friends Day Care in Fonda for eleven years. She was last employed by Yardstick in Cobleskill.
A devoted member of the Fonda Reformed Church since 1995; she was a Sunday School and Bible School teacher; and she also taught Children Worship. Gretchen was also a 4H Leader.
Raising her family was very important to Gretchen, and she enjoyed sewing, embroidering, and making quilts.
Survivors include her daughters, Kayla and Shyanne both of Fonda; her parents, Frank and Merilyn Ludwig of Warnerville; a brother, Dr. Bryan Ludwig of Jefferson, NY; several aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins.
Gretchen was very adamant this is not be a funeral service but a Celebration of the life that she had; and will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2016, at 1:00 PM at the Fonda Reformed Church, 19 Broadway, Fonda, NY with the Rev. Jennifer Yeske as celebrant. Following the celebration of life service there will be a gathering and reception in the Fellowship Hall of the church. Burial will take place at a later date at the Evergreen Cemetery, Sand Flats, Fonda. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Fonda Reformed Church Mission Trip Scholarship Fund for youth in memory of Gretchen or those wishing may make a contribution to the “Kayla and Shyanne Roberson Fund”; please make checks payable to NBT Bank, PO Box 517, Fonda, NY 12068.
