Mr. Robert W. Manieri, age 69, of Gloversville, died Sunday evening, December 4, 2016 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, following complications from recent heart surgery.

He was born April 9, 1947 in Gloversville, the son of Benjamin and Sally Clemente Manieri. He was a 1965 graduate of Gloversville High School and a 1969 graduate of Long Island University CW Post.

Bob was employed as a salesman for various businesses during his lifetime, including ten years at Finkle Distributors in Mayfield. After he retired from sales, he received his CDL license at age 60 and entered the business of long haul trucking. He ultimately retired from Green Trucking of Amsterdam this past September. Bob had a passion for photography and for the past ten years helped many couples capture the memories of their wedding day.  He enjoyed auto racing, fishing and in particular fly-fishing. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Joann Hladik Manieri of Gloversville; two children, Benjamin Manieri (Annmarie Cristiano) of Northville and Jill Saunders and her husband Brad of Gloversville; his brother, Dennis Manieri and his wife Armeda of Fort Lauderdale, FL; five grandchildren: Maizy Saunders, Benjamin Manieri, Nina Manieri, Taylor Johnson and Elaina Johnson and one niece, Gia Manieri.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, including his mother this past August.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7pm Friday, December 9, 2016 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10am Saturday at The Church of the Holy Spirit, 151 S. Main St; Gloversville, with the Rev. Donald Czelusniak as celebrant.

Interment will take place in the spring at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society, 437 Nine Mile Tree Rd. Gloversville, NY 12078.
