Robert V. Rekemeyer

Robert V. Rekemeyer, age 93 of Gloversville, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017 at the Fulton Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare, after a long illness.

He was born in Gloversville on August 25, 1923, a son of the late William H. Rekemeyer, Jr. and Frances E. Bennett Rekemeyer.

Robert was a graduate of Gloversville High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Rider College in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Mr. Rekemeyer was a World War II veteran serving in the Army Air Force. He was employed for many decades as a Federal Auditor for the U.S. government.

Survivors include his three sisters Betty Kested of Gloversville, Joan Rekemeyer of Gloversville and June Briggs of Tucson, Arizona and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his wife of 33 years Betty Nyce Rekemeyer who passed on April 8, 1987 and his brother William, III and two half brothers Donald and Duane.

In keeping with Robert’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

Fulton Street, Gloversville, New York 12078, Fulton County Office for Aging to support the Senior Nutrition Program, 19 N. William Street, Johnstown, New York 12095 or to the Nathan Littauer Foundation, 99 E. State Street, Gloversville, New York 12078.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown.
