James “Jimmy” Hladik, age 73 of Gloversville, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Albany Medical Center after a long illness.
He was born on May 30, 1944 in Johnstown, a son of the late John A. and Anna M. Maderic Hladik.
Jimmy’s father was one of the original founders of Lexington Center. Jimmy was a lifelong stock car racing fan and loved going to Fonda Speedway. He was a big fan of Elvis Presley and enjoyed collecting and playing records. In his younger days, Jimmy enjoyed working and cutting grass with his riding tractors at the family homestead on West Main Street. He was of the Catholic faith and was a longtime communicant of the former St. Anthony’s Church in Johnstown.
Survivors include one sister, Nancy Hladik of Penfield, one brother, John G. Hladik and his wife Jeanne of Johnstown, several nieces, nephews, cousins and his extended Lexington family.
There will be no calling hours.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Johnstown.
