Carolyn A. “Carol” Blyth, 54, of Gloversville, NY, died suddenly Tuesday, July 4, at Nathan Littauer Hospital.

Carol was born January 23, 1963, in Cobleskill, NY, a daughter of James and (Bonnie) Blyth and Nancy and (Roland) Olson. She graduated from Berne-Knox Westerlo High School in 1981 and also attended Herkimer County Community College. For many years, Carol was employed at the Gloversville Walmart, and for the last five years, served as the assistant manager. Carol was known for her kindness and compassionate manner and enjoyed camping and socializing with family and friends.

Survivors include her life partner, Kathy Cook of Gloversville; her stepchildren, Rebecca Johnson of Amsterdam, Amy Johnson of Gloversville, and Elsie Roman of Amsterdam; eight grandchildren; her mother, Nancy (Roland) Olson of Citrus Springs, FL; her stepmother, Bonnie Blyth of Howes Cave; her siblings, James (Bunny) Blyth Jr. of St. Johnsville, Danny (Lisa) Blyth of Schenectady, Andrea (Brian) Borst of Schoharie, Jemima (Mark) Schinnerer of West Fulton, Richard (Laura) Diamond of Edmond, OK, Brian (Annette) Diamond of Bethel, SC, and Kimberley Klingbeil of Schenectady, along with several nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends, including Debbie and Stephen Cook. Carol was predeceased by her father, James Blyth Sr., in 2015.

A period of visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Friday, July 7, at the Langan Funeral Home, 327 Main Street, Schoharie. Burial will be private at the convenience of family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Carol to the Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley, P.O. Box 40, Howes Cave, NY 12092.
