Eileen E. Wetterau, age 85, of Ephratah, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at her residence, with her loving family by her side.
She was born in the town of Johnstown on January 22, 1932, a daughter of the late Harry J. and Mildred Hammons Pitts.
Eileen worked for many years at her family’s business, Duesler’s Garage. She also delivered the Recorder News. Mrs. Wetterau was last employed as a secretary at Buhrmaster Energy in Amsterdam. Eileen was a Cub Scout leader and also a member of the Cranesville Fire Auxiliary, Ephratah Fire Auxiliary and a Daughter of the American Revolution.
She is survived by seven sons, Ivan Duesler (Susan), Stephen Duesler, Edward S. Duesler, Clifford J. Duesler (Denise) and Shawn V. Duesler (Sunny), all of Ephratah, Michael Wetterau of South Carolina and Mark Wetterau of Tennessee; one sister, Beverlie Cole (Alan) of Johnstown; sixteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Eileen was predeceased by her husband, Sam G. Wetterau, whom she married on March 3, 1979, and he passed away on October 10, 2011; daughter-in-law, Janet Duesler; grandson, Lonnie Duesler; and her sister, June Minnier.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, July 15, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, 2017, at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown.
Interment will be in Ephratah Rural Cemetery, Ephratah, immediately following the funeral service.
