Gary F. Brown, age 75, of Johnstown, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, with his loving family by his side.
He was born on September 21, 1941, in Gloversville, a son of the late Charles E. and Eula Hall Brown.
Gary was a class of 1960 graduate of Johnstown High School. He worked as a boring mill operator for over 33 years at General Electric in Schenectady until his retirement. Mr. Brown also served in the Army National Guard for seven years. Gary will be remembered as a friendly, generous, kind-hearted and outgoing person who was always willing to help others. He always had a story to tell and something to tinker with, whether it was a car, kids bicycle, or any other project. Gary also loved his many pets.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Brown, whom he married on August 3, 1973, and spent 44 loving years together; two daughters, Bridgett Olson (James) and Kimberly Montanye; one brother, Robert C. Brown; five grandchildren, Mark-Benjamin Hime (Amber Cotter), Marcy Montanye, Codie Montanye, Thomas-James Olson (Ashley Delaney) and Linnea-Elizabeth Sweet (Chad); great-grandchildren, Trenton Hime, Madeline Hime, Hunter Hime, Wesson Delaney, Colt Sweet and another little Sweet on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no calling hours.
Cremation was at Vale Crematory, Schenectady.
