Hope Diane Piehuta, age 45, of Caroga Lake, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady with her courageous battle with cancer.
Hope was born on July 27, 1971 in Amsterdam, and she attended local schools.
She was employed at the Canada Lake Store & Marine until the onset of her illness. Hope loved the great outdoors, boating, camping and spending time with all her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband Christopher Piehuta, whom she married on August 5, 2000; three daughters Brittany Whitehouse (Kyle) of Anchorage, Alaska, Lindsey Piehuta of Caroga Lake and Shana Piehuta of Caroga Lake; her father Harland Dillenbeck of North Carolina; her mother Marjorie Dillenbeck and her companion Michael Harrington of Caroga Lake; mother and father-in-law Carol and Michael Piehuta, one brother David Dillenbeck of Caroga Lake; four sisters Jennifer Rorick, Gloria Dillenbeck and Nichole Nichols all of Caroga Lake and Kimberly Jothem of Sarasota, Florida, one sister-in-law Lisa Piehuta; four grandchildren, Logan Whitehouse, Natalie Whitehouse, Wyatt Morrison and Evelyn Morrison; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 1 until 4 p.m. at the Barter & Donnan Funeral Home, 1 North Melcher Street, Johnstown.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in North Bush Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Mary’s Cancer Center.
