For the family of Jacqueline “Jackie” Teachout Jancek of Wells, New York, the 9th of July 2017 will always mark a significant benchmark in their lives. On that morning, Jackie slipped peacefully away from this life, leaving those who love her with a void that never will be filled.
She died only 13 days shy of her birthday, but her legacy of 77 years will continue to enrich the lives of those who love her. Born in New Jersey but raised in Galway, New York, Jackie married John “Jack” Jancek in 1957. Together they raised a brood of children, two of whom, to her enduring regret, predeceased her, as did her sweetheart Jack.
While she worked in a variety of occupations during her eventful life, Jackie believed her most important job was as a mother, grandmother and elder to her family. Jackie will be sadly missed and her life celebrated by her partner, William Stuka; her children, grandkids, nieces and nephews, brother-in-law and his wife.
A private commemoration of Jackie’s life will be held at the convenience of the family. If anyone wishes to honor her life, he or she wouldn’t go wrong to plant a tree in her memory, a long-held desire of Jackie’s. “Vade in pace,” Jackie — go in peace. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Northville Funeral Home. Condolences may be made to the family online at www.northvillefuneralservice.com.
