William G. Husted, age 77, of Johnstown, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017 at Nathan Littauer Nursing Home, Gloversville.
He was born on February 10, 1940, in Gloversville, a son of the late William I. and Grace Bentley Husted.
Mr. Husted was a 1958 graduate of Johnstown High School.
He was employed with various leather mills in the area until he started employment with the Johnstown Water Department, where he worked until his retirement. After retiring, he then worked for the Community Service Department and the Johnstown Public Library.
During high school, Bill played basketball and ran track. He was a member of the Johnstown Loyal Order of the Moose and was a member of the pitch league. His hobbies included watching NASCAR, fishing, painting and making jewelry. He loved animals and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his children Michael W. Husted Sr. and his companion, Charlene, of Gloversville; Janice Fabozzi (James R.) of Johnstown, Jeanette L. Seeley (Brian) of Gloversville, Debbie S. Craver (Richard E. Jr.) of Johnstown and Nancy L. Weaver (Lynn F. Sr.) of Oppenheim; one sister Arlene I. Johnson of Iowa; grandchildren Christianna M. Husted, William “Billy” Husted Michael W. Husted Jr., Jennifer Rose, Catherine G. Fabozzi, Jason A. Craver and Paige Wilson and Lynn F. Weaver Jr. (Amanda); six great grandchildren; his former wife Edith Billa; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a grandson, Brandon Fabozzi.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 3, 2017 from 4 until 6 p.m. at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc. 215 E. Main St., Johnstown.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday June 3, 2017 at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Cremation will be at Vale Crematory, Schenectady.
