Lorraine A. Zayicek, age 92, of Poulsbo, Washington, formerly of Johnstown, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017, at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton, Washington.
She was born on July 3, 1925, in Astoria, Queens, a daughter of the late Paul and Antoinette Ahrens Trajlinek.
Lorraine worked for many years as a floor clerk for the former Ames Department Store, retiring in 1998. She was a member of the Johnstown 50 Plus Senior Citizens and Happy Days.
Survivors include her children, Lorrie Venneman (Philip) of Gloversville, Terry Passero (Julianne) of Johnstown and Lisa Haggerty (Brian) of Poulsbo, Washington; one brother, Timothy Trajlinek (Edythe) of Johnstown; four grandchildren, Glenn Ferraro, Stephen Ferraro, Christopher Passero and James Haggerty; two great-grandchildren, Ariana Ferraro and Gavin Passero; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lorraine was predeceased by her husband, Stephen Zayicek, whom she married on March 29, 1954, and he passed on April 18, 1976; and four siblings, Paul Trajlinek, Delores Van Nostrand, Muriel Loux and Marion Jackson.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, September 22, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 E. Main Street, Johnstown.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017, with a one-hour visitation period prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Fern Dale Cemetery, Johnstown, immediately following the funeral service.
