James Michael Adams, age 63, passed peacefully at home on Sunday, November 12, after a brief illness.
Born on February 20, 1954, in Amsterdam, he was the son of the late William John Adams (Jack) and Patricia (Maloney) Adams. He was raised in Schoharie, NY. He was a longtime resident of Duanesburg, NY. James spent his later years as a resident of Mayfield, NY with his loving wife, Danielle. He worked for Conrail until 1998. James was a devoted member and leader of the Board of Trustees at Mayfield United Methodist Church. He was also a close friend of Bill W. with a home group in Mayfield on Tuesday nights.
James had a passion for life. He was always focused on doing the next right thing and helping his fellow friends and neighbors. James enjoyed studying history and was an avid reader. He volunteered for many activities to help his community and his fellow man. He loved spending time outdoors, boating, and riding his motorcycle.
James is survived by his wife, Danielle (Mason) Adams; son, Michael J. (Jocelyn) Adams of Glenville, NY; daughter, Kara Q. [Prentis] Henry of Hartselle, AL; son, Mathew J. (Jenna) Adams of Niskayuna, NY; grandchildren, Olivia, Jack, Eva, Samuel, Lyla and Daisy; brothers, John (Hilda) Adams, Timothy (Joanne) Adams; nieces, Abigail, Gisele and Elise; and nephew, Timothy.
Calling hours with the family will be held at the Mayfield United Methodist Church at 19 North Main St., Mayfield, NY on Friday, November 24, at 10 a.m. with the memorial service starting at 11 a.m. A celebration of life will be held immediately following at the Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts at 2736 NY-30, Gloversville, NY 12078.
