Thomas M. Nigro

Thomas M. Nigro, age 80, of Gloversville, died Sunday, November 19, 2017, at Saratoga Hospital, Saratoga Springs.

He was born February 4, 1937, in Gloversville, the son of James and Millie (Clemente) Nigro. He was employed as a supervisor by Milligan and Higgins of Johnstown for his entire working career until his retirement.

Tom coached Little League baseball, played softball at the Meco Ball Park and bowled in several bowling leagues in his younger years. He was an avid fisherman and also golfer, with memberships at Hales Mills and at Fox Run where he started the Venison Open. He enjoyed hunting and spending time chatting with friends at Stewart’s and Dunkin Donuts.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbi (Jones) Nigro; four children, Thomas Nigro Jr. (Kathy) of Randolph, NJ, Michael Nigro of London, England, Tammy Purdy (Richard) of Lake Worth, Florida and Tara Goliber (Paul) of Saratoga Springs; a sister, Ruth Crocetta of Gloversville; seven grandchildren, Eric, Marc, Todd, Nicholas, Kirstin, Kaylynn and Kendall; two great-grandchildren, Declan and Everett; and nephews, Anthony and James Crocetta.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 24, at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. L. David Almleaf officiating.

Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown.
