Jeffrey ‘Duffer’ W. Heroth

Jeffrey “Duffer” W. Heroth, age 63, of Johnstown, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady.

He was born on May 17, 1954, the son of the late Milton and Beverley “Bobbie” Mowrey Heroth.

Jeff was a class of 1972 graduate of Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School. He attended Fulton-Montgomery Community College and later SUNY Brockport. He worked for many years at various leather mills throughout Fulton and Montgomery counties. Mr. Heroth also worked at Twilight Color & Chemical and lastly at Brown’s Ford in Johnstown until his retirement. Jeff was an avid softball player. In addition to softball, he enjoyed bicycling and was a passionate Raiders, Red Sox and Bruins fan. Above all, Duffer’s favorite thing was to spend time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Smith Heroth, whom he married on May 13, 1994; one brother, James (Paula) Heroth of Ephratah; children, Bobbi-Jo Heroth (Chuck) of Little Falls, Josh Heroth of Spring Hill, Florida, Roy Heroth (Shawna) of Fonda, Kayla Heroth of Johnstown, Kolbe Gray (Steve) of Ephratah, Stephani Egan (Jeff) of Johnstown and Jordan Hill of Johnstown; grandchildren, Brianna-Jo Miller, Stephen Gray, Roy Milton Heroth, Mason Gray, Brady Hill and Harper Hill. Poppy Duff was anxiously awaiting the birth of his seventh granchild in June. In addition, he is survived by an uncle, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, March 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 East Main Street, Johnstown.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at the funeral home.

A celebration of life will be held at the Johnstown Eagles, 12 S. William St., Johnstown immediately following the memorial service.
