On Monday, April 16, 2018, Doris King Welch of Northville, passed away in the house her husband built for her, surrounded by family.

Born January 1, 1927, in the town of Northampton, she spent most of her life there, working many years with her extended family at the Allen and Palmer Hardware.

A lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church, Doris was active in Steadfast, the Historic Society and various craft clubs through the years.

Predeceased by her parents, Ralph King and Marie Groff Canal; a brother, Bob King and her husband Elbert H. Welch.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry Welch of Washington state and Lee (Debbie) Welch of Wells, NY; and two daughters, Brenda (Jim) Decker and Janet (Ed) Graham of Northville; 11 grandchildren along with many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday evening, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Northville Funeral Service Inc., 401 Bridge Street, Northville, NY 12134. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.

A private graveside service will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Northville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Doris’s memory to the Sacandaga Helping Hands or to Mountain Valley Hospice.
