Edward M. Retersdorf, age 69 years, of Gloversville, passed away April 23, 2018, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Gloversville, NY on February 24, 1949, and is the son of the late Richard and Ida Mae (Safford) Retersdorf.
He is survived by his loving wife, Susan S. (Stemsky) Retersdorf; one daughter, Sarah Retersdorf of Amsterdam, NY; one son, Adam (Jessica) Retersdorf of Mayfield, NY; and a granddaughter, Savannah.
Besides his parents, he is also predeceased by a sister, Claudia Retersdorf.
During his lifetime, he was a corrections officer for the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department; he also worked for MCA, and Kingsboro Lumber Company. He was a past member/officer of the Pleasant Square Volunteer Fire Department, a USS Swimming Official, a member of the Antique, and Classic Boat Society Adirondack Chapter, and a former member of the United Methodist Church on North Main.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY 12078 on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon.
