Julie A. Dorman, 50, of Gloversville, died Sunday, May 6, 2018, after giving cancer a good fight for two and a half years.
Julie was born July 10, 1967, the daughter of Leon “Porky” Dorman and Ellen Dorman. She was the mother of Patrick Oarr, Jordan Carta (Peter), Andrew Oarr and Kathryn Oarr; and a sister to Tammy, Don, William and David Dorman. She is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was a magician with a crochet hook, a genealogical genius, a lover of books, movies and her family (though maybe not in that order) and fit perfectly into our crazy, sarcastic, loving tribe. Julie will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
Julie and her family greatly appreciated the care and concern of Dr. Tai and the entire staff of NYOH in Amsterdam, and in lieu of flowers, would like any donations to go to the NYOH Community Cancer Foundation, 449 Route 146 Suite 101, Clifton Park, N.Y. 12065.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Julie’s life, followed immediately by a reception, at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Concordia Club. Dress is casual for both and all are encouraged to wear green — Julie’s favorite color.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Gloversville Funeral Home. Condolences may be made to the family online at www.gloversvillefuneralservice.com.
