David Richard Lair, 75, of Charleston, SC, husband of Marilyn Stanley Lair, passed away on Feb. 25, 2018. David was born Nov. 12, 1942, in Gloversville, NY, son of the late Richard Franklin Lair. He served 22 years in the South Carolina Army National Guard and four years in the Navy aboard the USS Canopus. He was retired Civil Service.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marilyn Lair of Charleston, SC; daughter, Kim Smith (Kevin) of Summmerville, SC; son, Todd Lair (Mandi) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; three grandchildren, Riley, Landon, and Henry; three sisters, Ruth Perieicich of Amsterdam, NY, Jean Booth of Mayfield, NY, Mary Lou Bennett of Northville, NY. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Joan Rauer, Judy Martin Paine; and a brother, Dale Lair.
The family is hosting a picnic in celebration of David’s life for family and friends to be held on Saturday, July, 28, at 276 Sinclair Road, Edinburg, NY 12134 at 2:00 p.m.
