Jane Alvina (Rieth) Meyers, 89, of Feeding Hills, MA, passed away Friday, February 1, 2019, with a sweet smile on her face as she greeted her mother in God’s garden. Her winter years were spent lovingly embracing her fourteen great-grandchildren while under the loving care of her family and devoted husband for 66 years. She lived in Feeding Hills for the past 34 years.

She was awarded the Obama Service Award for over 25 years and 4000 plus service hours as a dedicated volunteer at Baystate Medical Center.

As a Navy wife, she lived in many different states while raising her five daughters with her husband, Garry who she met in high school. Jane enjoyed being involved with her daughter’s activities at church, school and in the community as a Girl Scout leader, librarian assistant, and Parent Teacher Association.

Jane was born March 17, 1929, in Gloversville, NY to James and Margaret (Stock) Rieth. Jane leaves behind her husband, Garry; sister, Barbara A. Rieth of Gloversville, NY; brother, Gerald Rieth (deceased) wife, Mary Ann of Guilderland, NY.

Jane is survived by five daughters, Bridget Heller husband Laurence of South Deerfield, MA, Mary Lane husband Albert (deceased) of Hendersonville, TN, Kathi Pickett husband David of Feeding Hills, MA, Brenda Beaudoin husband Louis of Palmer, MA and Aileen Dacyczyn husband, Walter of South Deerfield, MA. She was the cherished grandmother to twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Agawam Funeral Home, 184 Main St., Agawam. Her funeral service will begin on Thursday, February 7, at 9 a.m. followed by a Liturgy of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Parish, 1065 Springfield St., Feeding Hills, MA. Graveside services will be at Ferndale Cemetery, 545 North Perry Street, Johnstown, NY in the springtime.
