Christopher David Frye, age 42, formerly of Gloversville, now residing in Portlandville, passed away June 25, 2019, from his courageous battle with cancer at Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown.
He was born April 17, 1977, in Gloversville, the son of Merrill Frye Sr. and Dona Groves. He was employed as a Winder by AGT Services of Amsterdam. He loved to take rides on his Harley-Davidson and metal detecting, was an avid outdoorsman and golfer among other hobbies. Chris was a New York Yankees, New York Giants, and NASCAR fan, especially of Jeff Gordon. He enjoyed working alongside his brother Merrill, doing lighting work for local bands.
Christopher is survived by his wife, Angela Hillman Frye; their two children, Damin and Mackenzie Frye; his mother, Dona Groves; his two brothers Jeffery Madden and Merrill Frye Jr.; a godson, Aaronn DiMarco; along with several nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends
He was predeceased by his father Merrill Frye Sr.; along with his in-laws, William and Roswitha Hillman.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 a.m. to noon June 29, 2019, at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, where a funeral service will follow at noon p.m. with the Rev. R.W. Williams officiating.
Interment will take place immediately following at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown.
