Mrs. Eva L. Waffle, 79, of Palatine Bridge, NY entered into eternal life on Friday, May 31, 2019, at Ellis Hospital, surrounded her family. Born in Amsterdam, NY on May 15, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Bartholomew and Concetta Mancini Leggiero.

A lifelong area resident, Eva was a graduate of Fonda-Fultonville High School. She was first employed by Central National Bank and later Montgomery Manor where she served as the Activities Director until her retirement.

On July 31, 1960, she was united in marriage to Robert R. Waffle Sr. Together for nearly 60 years, they had a wonderful life together. She is survived by her husband, Bob; three sons, Walter “Wally” Waffle and his wife Andrea of Fonda, NY, Robert R. Waffle Jr. and his wife Paige of Middletown, MD and Martin Waffle and his wife Deborah of Broadalbin, NY; six grandchildren, Jessica (Jadrian) Cyr, Stephanie Waffle, Robert (Amanda Lewis) Waffle III, Kelsey Waffle, Jonathan “Jack” (Shanley Benetz) Waffle and Brendan Waffle; one great-grandson, Jullien Cyr; one niece; two nephews; and cousins.

She was predeceased by her sister, Madeline Brown and her husband Robert.

Eva was affectionately known as “Dodo” to many. She took great pride in her home and enjoyed going to the casino, camping and vacationing in Florida. Her greatest joy was her children and her grandchildren. Family was everything to her and she will be forever missed and loved by all who knew her.

A Mass of Christian burial will be offered on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at 10 a.m. at St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church, 26 Broadway, Fonda, NY. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Sandflats, Fonda. Calling hours for relatives and friends will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, from 3:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
