Mrs. Helen Louise Foster, 92, of Johnstown, NY, entered into eternal rest on June 4, 2019, at Nathan Littauer Nursing Home, Gloversville NY, with her beloved family by her side.
Helen was born on April 24, 1927, in Stamford, Connecticut, to the late Harold E. Ashcroft and Jessie I. Lathrop Ashcroft. She was educated in local schools and went on to marry the late Donald Arthur Foster (died 2000). In the later years of her working career, Helen was dedicated to taking care of others as a local home health aide in Fulton-Montgomery counties.
She leaves behind her daughter, Lyn Redfern and her husband Ken; grandson, Jay Matthews and his wife, Alicia; great-grandkids, Ayla and Maiven Matthews; sisters-in-law, Claire Ashcroft and Lois Sammons and family. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive, with a special “thank you” to Cindee Ashcroft; her nephew, Carl Pearson and his wife, Kathy for their loving care given.
She was predeceased by not only her loving husband, Donald and parents; her brother, Harold E. “Junie” Ashcroft and Ralph Ashcroft; her sister, Gladys “Pat” Keech. Several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews also are predeceased.
Helen’s final wishes were to have a private interment at the family’s convenience, in the family pilot at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown, NY.
