Mr. Luizzi

Carlton E. Luizzi passed away on June 2, 2019, in Ocala, FL. He was born in Gloversville, NY on Oct. 30, 1919, to Earl and Bessie (TenEyck) Luizzi. He graduated from Gloversville High School. Carlton and his late wife, Helen moved to Floral City, FL in 2002, having been snowbirds until that time.

Carl and his brother, Thomas ran Luizzi Bros., in Gloversville, an industrial stitching machine repair and manufacturing business. Carlton enjoyed bowling, playing baseball and softball, hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors. One of his greatest joys was singing with the Empire Statesmen for two decades, a championship barbershop chorus from central New York.

Carlton was an upbeat, outgoing person with a good sense of humor. He prided himself on ice skating and rollerblading well into his 90s. He had a creative gift of being able to fix or make a part for anything.

Carlton is survived by his daughter, Susan Moses of Rexford, NY; and his nieces, Patti (Mark) Jagielski and Pam (Rich) Green; and sister-in-law, Eleanor Luizzi. His brother, Thomas predeceased in January 2019.
