Ronald Collins, age 85, of Fonda, passed away Friday, July 5, 2019, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville.
He was the son of the late Henry and Erma Sitterly Collins.
Ron was employed as a surveyor, farmer, bridge construction and then was last employed for the N.Y.S. Canal System in Fonda until his retirement.
He was a member of the Johnstown Reformed Church, Town of Mohawk Senior Citizens, Tribes Hill Senior Citizens, Fulton County Antique Car Club, Town of Mohawk Volunteer Fire Dept., and was also a founding member of the F.F.A.V.A.C.
On July 4, 1953, he was united in marriage to Phyllis A. Collins and she passed away on July 13, 2002.
Survivors include two sons, Lawrence Collins, Kevin (Tracey) Collins; three daughters, Claudia Collins, Rondalynn (Edward) Gill, Melisa (Alex) Feinour; one brother, Brett (Nancy) Collins; sister-in-law, Nancy Murkey Collins; grandchildren, Courtney Collins, Christopher Collins, Corey Collins, Jeremy Gill, Joshua Gill, Jonathan Gill, Tia Feinour, Keegan Feinour, Maegen Collins and Ryan Collins; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Alexis, Nicholas, Isaiah, Jalyn, Brooke, Meadow, Willow and Kalani; nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by two brothers, Daryl Collins and Val Collins; his sister, Gaynell Bujanowski; and a his grandson, Chad Collins.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at noon at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 East Main Street, Johnstown.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Tuesday one hour prior to the service from 11a.m. until noon at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.
