Mr. William P. “Pooh” McSpirit, 90 years old, of Johnstown, passed away Saturday August 10, 2019 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville.
He was born November 24, 1928 the eldest son of the late Patrick and Elizabeth McSpirit. He was a longtime attendant of Lexington, and enjoyed going to the dances and other functions there. Some of Pooh’s favorite places to go were Cloverpatch Camp that he went to often, Fonda Speedway and fairgrounds.
He enjoyed attending services at the Foothills United Methodist Church in Gloversville.
William is survived by his brother Fred McSpirit, a sister in-law Cora McSpirit, many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members, along with his Lexington friends and family at Rosewood.
In addition to both his parents, William was predeceased by his siblings; Francis McSpirit, Firman McSpirit, Thomas McSpirit, Sr., Patricia Passino, Edward McSpirit, Mabel Ward, John McSpirit, Joan Carter, Charles McSpirit and Earl McSpirit.
The family will receive relatives and friends from noon to 2 p.m., Thursday August 15, 2019 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville where a Funeral Service will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Reynolds officiating.
Interment will take place directly following funeral services at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
