Allen L. Hayes, 78, of Tribes Hill, went to be with the Lord on September 11, 2019, at the Fulton Center. Born in Gloversville, NY, he was the son of the late Frank and Evelyn Schreivogel Hayes.
Allen worked for many years at the former Glen-Mohawk Dairy in Fultonville. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and watching NASCAR, football and baseball games. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Johnstown.
On September 20, 2008, he married Dawn Porta, who survives. He is also survived by his children, Bill, Jennifer and Paula; sister, Judy Snell; stepson, Ron Cook and family; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, Jeffrey Hayes; and brothers, Frank and Donnie Hayes.
Friends may call Thursday, September 19, 2019, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Johnstown, 325 S. Comrie Ave., where services will follow at 11 a.m. Inurement will follow in North Bush Cemetery.
