Mrs. Esther L. Lawrence, 79, a lifelong resident of the Mohawk Valley, passed away suddenly early Sunday morning, September 22, 2019, at her residence.

She was born on July 30, 1940, in the town of Danube, the daughter of the late Leland Oliver and May (Ropeter) Dillenbeck. She was educated in Little Falls and Danube Rural schools.

Mrs. Lawrence was united in marriage to her husband, Robert Lawrence, who preceded her in death. For many years she enjoyed cooking and especially sharing delicious treats around Christmas time.

She is survived by her siblings, Carl Dillenbeck of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Linda Dillenbeck of Ilion, Janet Jasewicz of Ilion, Sandra Dillenbeck of Frankfort and Thomas Dillenbeck of Johnstown; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Beside her parents, Esther was predeceased by her siblings, Lester Dillenbeck, Douglas Dillenbeck, Chester Dillenbeck and Leonard Dillenbeck.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019, at 3 p.m. from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street, village of St. Johnsville (next to NBT Bank), with the Reverend David A. Johnson, officiating. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Thursday, September 26, 2019, from 2 until the 3 p.m. funeral services Thursday afternoon.

It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Lawrence be considered to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
