Loretta A. Baurle

Loretta A. Baurle, 82, of Forest Street, Gloversville, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at Nathan Littauer Hospital.

She was born in Northville on May 14, 1937, a daughter of Harold and Emma King Fletcher and moved with her family to Route 29, Gloversville as a child. Loretta lived in Johnstown for several years before moving to Gloversville in 2009.

She was employed at several local tanneries and glove factories, including Cresendo Gloves in Johnstown. Later, Loretta worked at Amsterdam Print & Litho for three years before becoming a senior companion for Lexington Center in Gloversville.

She was a member of the Broadalbin Baptist Church and sang in the choir. Loretta also was involved with the Betty Green Choir in Gloversville.

She enjoyed her family and loved being with them on camping trips, holidays, and other get togethers.

She was married to Lloyd Baurle on September 28, 1957. He passed away July 28, 1988. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Howard Fletcher; and a sister, Gloria Cheney.

Survivors include two sisters, Kathleen Elmore of Gloversville and Patricia Stoutner of Mayfield; a sister-in-law, Mildred Fletcher of Gloversville; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; cousins; and her beloved feline companion, Lily.

Cremation was performed at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. Calling hours will be held on Friday September 27, 2019, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home Inc., 111 County Highway 106 (corner of Route 29 and Black Street), Johnstown. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Doug Blanc, officiating. Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nathan Littauer Hospital Foundation, in care of the funeral home.
